The word “PAPERMOON” is composed from Washi ( Japanese paper )
and Tomo ( moon ) which is part of my name.
Information on my works and classes about the creation
of paper lamps would be introduced by myself Tomoko Fuyuno.

Memory of Light

There was a small park in front of my house where I grew up.
One clear day in summer,
I sat down on a bench and looked at the sky.
Between bright green leaves,
the sun light shone softly on my face.
Leaves stirred in the wind, sun light danced on the leaves;
it’s hard to put that beautiful sight into words.
At night
the scenery of Yokohama
spread outside the window of the house where I was born.
The house is at the top of the mountain.
Red, yellow, green, blue….
The lights twinkled like jewels and always excited me.
These are my special memories of light.
Light encourages human beings,
gives us hope, heals our mind and absorbs into our bodies
and it somehow makes a person’s mind more pure.
Why is it?
Maybe, I’m working at this job to find an answer to that question.
I want to be close to the light.
That’s why I’m making lamps
and I want to make people happy with these lamps.
I want to help brighten people’s lives.
That is my vision….
